Day 2 in Paradise

Today was all about getting ready for our two fabulous weeks in Lahaina.  We started out by visiting the ABC store at the Cannery Mall where we picked up all the necessary items; turtle key chain, cooler, chocolate covered macadamian nuts, beach mat, sun block and more chocolate.  When then went to Safeway for food and more chocolate.  With all the items neatly put away in our condo, we decided to drive to Wal-Mart and finish our shopping.  We stopped at several beaches on the way and were able to see a few whales cavorting in the ocean.  We picked up the final items needed (shampoo, shower gel and more chocolate) and headed back.  Our purchases where wrapped in a t-shirt because the Wal-Mart store had run out of plastic bags.  They are really into the green movement.  On the way back we stopped at a scenic outlook to once again look for whales and we did see some.  We will get a much better view on our whale cruise but I had to get my whale fix.

We had just enough energy to walk to Front street and have a lava flow.  Tomorrow we plan on sleeping in and eating chocolate.  I am also going to rent a bike so I can bike to the beach each day.
